Meet James Brown, Passionate Business Systems Guru

BizTech Guru was started by James Brown for a similar reason that lots of consultancies are:

He’d worked out how to solve a big problem really well for himself, and then realised, many others were struggling with the exact same challenge.

At BizTech Guru, we help people to get their business configured so that it can thrive without needing the owner behind the wheel.

This is done by building healthy teams, who have complete clarity and direction, that have the right tools at their disposal. Simple to say, but not so simple in practice.

The Journey Towards Freeing Business Owners

From Taking Over a Family Business

In his 20s, James fell into running a family business and made countless mistakes along the way. He worked 100+ hour weeks and didn’t take off more than a day a month for the first 3 years, but he knew it didn’t need to be this way.

Commencing a Systemising Quest

James started building his team to allow him to ‘work on’ the business, but they had no processes to follow. James began to meticulously one by one create a system for anything that moved. All by himself, slowly, picking at random what to systemise next. No strategy, no methodology.

It wasn’t the best approach, but over a period of time, he managed to systemise himself out of the business completely.

Hunger to Learn

Now the team had systems to follow, James used all his new found free time to binge the best business education he could find. He developed it into a multi-award winning business which had shifted from an owner-centric obligation to a team-led operation.

Boredom Leading to New Business

As the business needed less and less of James’ time and attention, he founded BizTech Guru to help other business owners to achieve the same result he had - to stop working in their business. The problem was though, he was missing a big piece of that puzzle.

Discovering the System for Systemising

James systemised the motel without any real formula, but he knew that systems were the key to his success. Then in 2020, David Jenyns published SYSTEMology, the system for how to systemise a business. James was fortunate enough to be included in the first ever group of people training to become SYSTEMologists.

Impacting Businesses at Scale

With the 20 years in small business management James already had, plus the depth of experience in systemising ‘the wrong way’, he was able to take the beautiful simplicity of David’s SYSTEMology methodology and help business owners implement it in a way that could only come from someone who had walked the talk.

Becoming a Master

James has become one of only two Master SYSTEMologists in the world, and has personally worked with over 100 businesses to implement these concepts. Beyond this he has continued to work closely with David Jenyns, honing and expanding upon the methodology through the group programs they run together. The success of their collaboration can be found in David’s the sequel to SYSTEMology, Systems Champions.

The DNA of BizTech Guru

We are authentically committed to the work we do, due to the depth and breadth of impact we create.

Our Impact

Our primary focus is to create more opportunities for business owners to spend time with their families.

The journey business owners undertake to create better circumstances for their family, typically comes at the expense of spending time with them. We however know that focusing on one doesn’t mean needing to sacrifice the other.

We feel this impact runs deeper than the surface though.

Those people who have the audacity and strength of will to build a successful business, are those who can create a massive impact in the world, given the right resources.

That’s why we are driven to help those vanguard business owners we work with generate an abundance of time, money and energy. We know that most will reinvest those resources into doing good in the world, with the ripple effect reaching far further than we could ever imagine.
